Text me reminders about this booking
When you book online
A box on the booking form carries that line. Ticking it is your consent to receive reminder texts about that appointment.
When you book on a call
The assistant reads the line back to you and you say yes. That yes is kept as the record of your consent.
Up to four messages per appointment.
Never more, and most bookings get fewer.
What may arrive
A confirmation when the booking is made, a reminder ahead of the appointment, and, only if you have not replied, a short follow-up to confirm or reschedule.
The cap
The total for one appointment is four messages. There is no drip of extras and no other thread.
Here is what a reminder looks like.
The name, business and time are filled in from the booking itself.
Hi {first}, this is {business}. Reminder: your appointment is {day} at {time}. Reply C to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.
Two words, either direction.
You stay in charge of the thread from the first message to the last.
Reply STOP to opt out
You get one confirmation that you are unsubscribed, then nothing further about that appointment or any other. You can opt back in at your next booking.
Reply HELP for help
You get a short message naming the business that is sending the reminders and how to reach it.
Plainly, because it should be.
